Briefing COPDEM Media TV, the National Chairman of COPDEM, Prince Rwang Pam Jr., attributed the achievement to the commitment and resilience of young men and women, artisans, traders and other well-meaning Nigerians who share the common vision of protecting Nigeria’s democracy.

Prince Pam said the milestone reflects the collective determination of citizens who have continued to support COPDEM’s efforts to strengthen grassroots participation, promote electoral transparency and protect the integrity of the electoral process.

He expressed profound appreciation to members of the COPDEM Board of Trustees for their immense contributions towards the actualisation of the organisation’s projects, acknowledging their support as an important part of the progress recorded so far.

The COPDEM chairman emphasised that protecting democracy requires collective responsibility and sustained citizen engagement, particularly as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections.

He called on well-meaning Nigerians across the country and in the diaspora to join COPDEM’s initiative, contribute to its activities and support efforts to build a nationwide network of citizens committed to electoral accountability.

According to the organisation, its Elections Monitoring App is designed to support the coordination of polling unit agents and strengthen the documentation of election-day activities, including voting procedures, counting processes and the reporting of suspected irregularities.

With 70,427 verified polling unit agents** recorded on its platform, COPDEM is continuing its recruitment and mobilisation efforts towards the 2027 elections. The next phase will require sustained training, effective deployment and coordination to translate the growing register into operational monitoring capacity.

Prince Pam’s appeal underscores COPDEM’s position that the protection of Nigeria’s democracy should not be left to politicians and electoral institutions alone, but should involve citizens from all walks of life.

The message from COPDEM is clear: protecting Nigeria’s democracy is a collective responsibility, and every well-meaning Nigerian has a role to play.
